The Origin of Slots

The success of slot machines picked up pace when the Bell Fruit company made slot machines with pictures of fruits and their flavors representing the chewing gums that were given as prizes. The Bar which was the bonus image, used to be the logo of this company.
In 1964, the mechanical slot machines were made by Bally Manufacturing. This was called the Money Honey. The slot machine games at this time had much higher pots than their predecessors and took multiple coins. This development was followed by machines which had colorful lights and music.
